The Advanced Composite Materials Engineering Group from University of Alberta started their comprehensive study of different fiber reinforcement including advanced basalt fibers. Epoxy basalt and glass fiber pipe samples has been tested for mechanical performance. Significant advantage of basalt fibers samples in burst strength have been proved.
