UD tapes, multiaxial fabrics and woven rovings

Kamenny Vek offers various kinds of UD tapes and multi-axial fabrics that can be used for closed moulding technologies like RTM and vacuum infusion. Kamenny Vek works with world-renowned producers of multi-axial fabrics to widen its output range and to satisfy requirements of end-users. Our basalt fabrics are especially important for wind power generator blades and boat hulls production. Low price of basalt non-woven fabrics – nearly the same as for E-glass fabrics – allows to significantly reduce weight of construction keeping the outlay on the level of E-glass materials.

  • If the outer gelcoat of your boat is slightly damaged, you can lose it from corrosion of glass fiber composite layer. With our basalt fiber you cannot afraid of such problem.

  • Basalt fibers have better sound insulation properties than glass fibers. Hence, with interior based on basalt fiber you will feel yourself more comfortable.
  • The dielectric properties of basalt fibers are equal to ones of glass fibers. So, switch from glass to basalt does not change radar transparency of construction.
  • After exposition under 400°C the basalt fibers lose only 20% of their initial strength, while strength of E glass under the same conditions drops substantially – more than 50%.
